MALVERN Floral Art held their meeting on July 26. Chairman Helena Goddard opened the meeting and welcomed all members and visitors she then introduced Judy Aldridge who gave us all a most interesting talk. Her theme being "Plants for Flower Arrangers." Judy brought along lots of sprays of shrubs and gave ideas how to use, also naming them all. There was quite a number of shrubs for sale which went very quickly. Judy then went on to talk about Chelsea Flower Show she was part of a team from all parts of the country that were awarded a plot at the show ground 20ft x20ft and had to design a feature. Luckily they got on well together and for 18 months they planned and grew flowers for a garden called "Victorian Revival" there was a greenhouse a small part to represent a sitting room lots of flowers and herbs and a wrought iron gate decorated with flowers for which in 2016 the team were awarded a gold medal. During the Chelsea show the team wore Victorian costumes. Judy brought lots of pictures for everyone to see including the gold medal. A vote of thanks was given by Jean Morris. No meeting in August. Club outing to visit Glan Arrow Garden, Eardisland and Weston Mill Water Gardens on August 23 leaving Hanley Swan Village Hall at 9.30am returning at 4.30pm. The next meeting September 27 with Jayne Morris her theme Antiques & Flowers all visitors welcome.
