The Berrow Summer Fete raised £620 which was a super outcome when we are so busy with the Restoration Project at St Faith's Church. Our MP, Harriett Baldwin is the Patron of the Restoration Appeal, and she sent her good wishes and hopes to visit soon. Rev'd Julie James welcomed parishioners and visitors, who all remark on how beautifully the large churchyard is cared for: the grass is diligently cut by Andrew Rambridge and Martin Knott carefully strims around the graves.

And it looks nice all the time not just for special events. There was, however, something very special to see last Saturday: during the week's work, a mediaeval tombstone was uncovered, with an intriguing circular decoration. Possibly this was once in the church - it has been re-covered to protect it; now we are all looking forward to the archaeologists' report. Visitors were able to hear more about the research into the stone effigy, that is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of their generous support for our project. The next heritage event will be A Triangle of Faith on Saturday 10 September when three historic churches in this parish alone will be open for the prestigious Heritage Open Days festival.

More details will follow. We co-operate closely in this benefice and are very blessed to have a superb organist - Giles Turner. Giles also writes lovely articles called 'Musical Notes' for the parish magazine - and he has just published a second volume 'Variations on a Musical Theme' which includes descriptions of the six churches in the benefice; these are availble for purchase at church services.
