WE have an excellent library here in Welland, run by volunteers. Each week we have a new delivery of books including newly printed ones and if there is a book you would especially like to read and it isn't on the shelves or on loan already, we can order it for you. There is also a good range of children's books and one of the volunteers arranges a reading morning for the little ones. The library is open Monday 3-5pm, Tuesday 1.30-5pm, Thursday 9.30-noon, Friday 9.30-11.30. We used to have a Wednesday opening, but unfortunately cannot find a volunteer for that day. Anyone like to help?
Car boots are starting this weekend. Dates are July 10, 17, 24. Gates open at 9am.
St. James Patronal Festival weekend is July 23/24 from 10-3. There will be crafts, exhibition and displays by Welland Arts and Crafts and floral displays based on Saints. If anyone would like to help with the floral displays could they get in touch with me please as at the moment we are rather short of flower arrangers.
Please don't forget my wingwalk for Childline on July17. I have mentioned before that this is self-funded, so all donations go to Childline. My justgiving page is: justgiving.com/fundraising/Mary-Purser. Childline was an amazing idea by Esther Rantzen all those years ago and sadly it is still needed today. Children don't have a voice, but they have Childline. Thank you.
