JACKIE Guy took her last service at St.James last Sunday. Congregations and friends from St Gabriels, Hanley Swan and St Marys Hanley Castle as well at St.James here in Welland attended to say farewell. She was presented with a cheque and a book made up from all the re-ordering of

St.James of which Jackie was part of the team that organised it all.

Bill didn't get left out as he used to look after the churchyard for some years. Jackie and Bill are leaving for pastures new and I am sure that a lot of the villagers will be sad to see them go. Bill was very active on the Parish Council for some years and Jackie was always there for a shoulder to lean on as part of her pastoral work, including Just Clobber. That was her brilliant idea and it has helped, over the 11 years since its opening, to help keep St.James solvent. Good luck and best wishes to them both and also to Joyce, Jackie's mum who is now living with them.

Just Clobber is open on Tuesday mornings from 10 until 1pm. It has a vast array of just about everything and if you are having a clear out of good quality clothes, bric brac, books etc, then bring it along on a Tuesday morning. Bring your friends also and have a good browse through all the items on display, then sit down for a cup of coffee/tea, a slice of home made cake and a chat.

Car Boots this year are: July 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st.

Dog Show and Fete tomorrow opens at 11am. 12 classes for the Dog Show, entry fee £2per class, Paintballing, Gun Dog Display, Alpacas on display, BBQ, skittles, plate smashing and much much more.

On the Sunday 17 July I will be wingwalking for Childline. As I have never, ever been in a plane never mind on one, I am looking forward to this. I am looking for sponsors and I must say a big thank you to all who have sponsored me so far. If you sponsor me on the justgiving page all the money goes straight to Childline and if you pay tax they can also get the gift aid as well which increases the sponsor money. All I need now is good weather.
