Malvern Floral Art Club held their meeting on May 2. Chairman Helena Goddard opened the meeting and welcomed all members and visitors. She then read a few announcements the great news Malvern Floral Art has won a gold for a floral display at Chelsea.Helena then introduced Janet Davies from Abergavenny who gave us a most interesting afternoon with her demonstration " Bamboozled" .while arranging the display Janet spoke of her holiday with her husband and grandson in Thailand and the people there. First arrangement using assorted foliage purple allium white lilies red gerberas and pink carnations . Janet's husband then read a poem which he did after every arrangement mostly written by the people of Thailand and their life.the first was written by a child. Second arrangement a small wooden container made with bamboo canes using small foliage with small chrysanthemum and tiny orchids very pretty this was followed using a colourful circle on a stand at the base of the circle large foliage with pink and red stocks and pink roses.poem after this display was written by 8year old. Now we come to the fourth arrangement in a glass vase green and silver foliage white roses and white lilies. Fifth display in a china vase ferns and green foliage with yellow lilies orange and red gerberas. The last arrangement in a basket dark and pale green foliage blue delphiniums purple alliums and orange gerberas. The last poem was entitled Granddads advice. A vote of thanks was given by Judy Smith. Tuesday August 25 visit to Glan Arrow Garden Eardisland and Westonbury Mill Water Garden Pembridge, leaving Hanley Swan Village Hall at 9.30am returning 4.30pm. Next meeting June 28 with Yolanda Cambell her theme "Thro the Garden Gate" also club competition entitled "From the Garden" 2pm at Hanley Swan Village Hall. All visitors welcome.
