THE Worcestershire Group once again flew the flag for the Society at the Malvern Spring Festival and were awarded an RHS Silver Medal for their display. The stand featured plants from the Ranunculaceae family – including clematis, delphinium and peonies - and a list of all the plants used is available at www.hardy-plant.org.uk.

Brian Ellis of Avondale Nursery, was guest speaker for the May meeting at Crowle. The nursery holds National Collections for three plant families, and Brian and his wife have created the Library Garden. This display garden reflects the Ellis’s background in art and their favoured flowing, moving, planting style. Brian showed photographs of his latest plant obsessions and talked enthusiastically about their traits and characteristics, giving useful advice on cultivation along the way.

The Group’s Annual Plant Sale takes place on Saturday 11 June between 2 and 4 pm at Peopleton Village Hall, WR10 2EG. All are welcome and entry is free as is plant advice. A wide range of quality plants grown by members will be on offer at reasonable prices, with plant supports and refreshments also available.
