I EXPECT you have all notice the new decking at St. James' Church. This has been generously donated by Keith and Pauline Gotobed and will enable the Church to have some of their tables outside when the cream teas start at the end of this month. It will be an added asset to the fundraising the Church does. I don't know if any of you know, but each year the Church has to pay the Diocese just over £11,000. This helps to pay for pensions, training new priests etc. They don't get any back, so that's why they are permanently raising funds. They still need to find money for maintenance and utility bills. If there is anything new they need for the Church e.g a new sound system then more fundraising is needed. Most Churches are in the same boat. We as a village are very lucky to have a lovely warm and welcoming Church, with enthusiastic members. It wasn't that long ago, that it was on the way to being closed, but thanks to the foresight of the then PCC it thankfully is well and truly now off the closure list.

The Tuesday Club is still not on at the moment due to illness. Is there anyone out there who could help or do you know anyone who would like to join? It is a very jovial club and there is a lovely cooked lunch included. A cheer you up club if ever I saw (or heard) one. For details ring Linda 01684 310570.

Don't forget the Fun Dog Show and Village Fete on June 25. Help needed on setting up and taking down. Lots of classes for the dogs and if last year is anything to go by it will be very well supported by the local vets.

Car boot dates June 12, July 10, July 17, July 24. Gates open 9am.
