A patriotic group of singers gathered to celebrate The Queen's 90th birthday at the May CaCoffany last Saturday. A programme of stirring hymns for this occasion was delivered and those present donned Union Jack hats and waved flags enthusiastically. Dundee cake (Her Majesty's favourite) and a selection of delicious sponge cakes were available afterwards as the singers relaxed and enjoyed time together. The next CaCoffany takes place on Saturday 4 June and hymns may be requested by email to sjmusgrave33@gmail.com. There is no admission charge for this event and all are welcome to join us from 10.00 in the church.
Our week of prayer began on Sunday with the introduction of a Prayer Tree in the church. You are welcome to drop in at any time during this week for a moment of quiet and leave a ribbon on the tree as a symbol of your prayer. On Saturday 14 May we are holding a day of prayer from 10.00am to 3.00pm. This is divided into half hour sections, each including prayers, music, a reading and a time of quiet, and you are invited to join us for any part of this. A light lunch will be available during the short interval.
There is still time to reserve tickets for our Harp Recital on Saturday 21 May at 7.30pm. A programme of beautiful music will be performed by Elizabeth Bass and further details are available at www.castlemortonevents.org.uk. Tickets cost just £10 and include refreshments which will be served during the interval. A bar will be open throughout the evening for wine and soft drinks. Telephone Sarah Musgrave (07715 562311) or David Edwards (07733 105258) to reserve tickets in advance or simply join us on the night at St Gregory's and pay at the door. A rare opportunity to hear solo harp played in this delightful setting.
