ANN Oldfield opened the Malvern Floral Art meeting on March 22, she welcomed all members and visitors, gave a few announcements and then introduced Carol Gardener "National Demonstrator" who gave a most beautiful display of floral arrangements her theme being "Natures Palette". Telling a story walking through the woods picking up small pieces of silver birch to make a round container filling with foliage mainly ivy leaves, lilac, tulips, helleborus and pink hyacinths. Second arrangement using bark make a square box using green foliage at the base with blue hyacinths and delphiniums white roses and daffodils to give the arrangement height pussy willow sprays and spider lilies. At the base Carol placed a similar arrangement of the previous. The next display a 4ft plank covered with trailing ivy and pink grass roses and carnations 5th arrangement a large pot using laurel leaves and assorted foliage sprays of pussy willow daffodils white roses, and dianthus. The 6th arrangement a piece of drift wood variegated foliage trailing to cover with foxtail lilies yellow gerbera and roses again Carol place a similar arrangement to match at the base. The final display a pedestal with assorted foliage bay leaves, stocks, phlox red roses, carnations and dark red lilies. A vote of thanks was given by Christine Peer. Marjorie Archer won the competition entitled "Springtime " Next meeting Hanley Swan Village Hall April 26 at 2pm is the A.G.M. this will be followed by "Fun Time" and Tea And Cakes All visitors welcome at our meetings.
