WITH the early Easter celebration this year many of the villagers took the opportunity to go away to a warmer clime, or to spend time with family members. Now that the clocks have been changed for summer time, we can look forward to longer, brighter days and probably plenty of April showers to get all those lovely flowers growing. The daffodils are still looking spectacular along the village roadsides.
Speaking of flowers, the Garden Club will meet on Wednesday evening in the Memorial Hall, 7.45pm for an 8pm start.
This Sunday there will be a service at Christ Church, 9.30am, and Wednesday prayers continue also at 9.30am.
And on Monday evening, the Book Club meet at 7.30pm to discuss the latest read, ‘An Icecream War’ by William Boyd.
Other village activities continue as usual.
In closing, here is a thought for the week ahead: ‘Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring!’ (Lily Pulitzer)
Have a splendid week.
