The AGM of Malvern Branch of Save the Children took place in March with seventeen members present. At the beginning of the meeting Will Brookes, the new Community Volunteering Manager for the charity presented Sandy Gibson with a letter of thanks from Save the Children for auditing the Malvern Branch accounts for the past twenty years and Sandy received grateful applause from all present.

The Chairman, Brenda Barker gave her report saying that 2015 was no different from any other year for the Malvern Branch in that we continued to hold many events throughout the year, raising much needed funds for the Charity. The campaigns for vaccinations and malnutrition treatment have saved millions of childrens' lives, however there are still children in the poorest countries struggling to survive from the moment they are born. Children under five are still dying from pneumonia, diarrhoea and malaria. The Syrian conflict continues and Europe is now experiencing one of its largest refugee crisis in history.

During 2015 the Malvern Branch raised £12,282 .The Chairman outlined the many varied fundraising events that had taken place over the year to raise this money. She finished by saying that it is through the commitment, enthusiasm, ideas and support of the Committee members, husbands, families and all our loyal supporters in Malvern that we have been able raise such an excellent amount again this year.

The Treasurer reviewed the accounts for 2015 and showed that our actual Fundraising Profit Total was £12,946.87 but £664.26 had gone as direct donations to Save the children H.Q. and not through the Malvern Branch account.

Will Brookes gave an area report, adding that changes in both the staffing and boundaries would provide more continuity in the future. The election of The Committee and office holders then took place with Schools speaker Muriel Mitchell presiding . Most of the Committee and office members were willing to stand for re- election for 2016 and were duly re-appointed.

The AGM was followed by a Branch Meeting to discuss future events.
