THE Burns Night Supper organised by the Malvern Branch of Save the Children and held at Colwall Village Hall in January, was very well supported and enjoyed by everyone . After a welcome drink and the Selkirk Grace the haggis was magnificently piped into the hall by Carol Baylis. It was then addressed in the traditional manner by Willie Campbell. A traditional three course meal was served to the ninety guests. This was followed by a splendid demonstration of Scottish dancing by the Malvern Scottish Dancing Club, after which the assembled company joined in enthusiastically.
It was a good evening and raised the the very satisfactory sum of £1,737 (one thousand seven hundred pounds and thirty seven pounds)
Many thanks to all the Committee for all their hard work in decorating the hall and in supplying and cooking the excellent meal. Thank you also to the wonderful husbands and partners who helped in so many ways and to all our other helpers, not forgetting all who attended and helped to raise this this very useful sum of money for Save the Children.
