WE ARE all used to saying there is light at the end of the tunnel when we can at last see better times are in sight.
This is exactly what many churches will be saying and remembering this week, as they recall the presentation of Christ in the Temple. On this day Simeon took the infant Jesus in his arms and was able to say, “Now, Lord, let your servant go in peace. My own eyes have seen the salvation which you have prepared in the sight of every people; a light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people Israel”.
Whilst we can’t actually take Jesus in our arms we can take hold of him in our hearts and know light in the midst of the darkness that can so often cloak our world. We can say that there is light at the end of the tunnel we sometimes have to travel down in life.
