FAURÉ Requiem, one of the gems of the choral repertoire, will be performed by The Hills Singers at Landsdowne Crescent Methodist Church on Saturday, November 7 at 7.30pm.

The occasion will be extra special as they will be accompanied by the strings and horns of the Paradisum Players playing John Rutter’s edited version of Fauré’s own orchestral score. In addition, the choir will sing the beautiful a cappella Stanford Motets and Bach’s masterful motet Jesu Meine Freude. With John Wilderspin on the organ, the evening promises to be a harvest of delights.

Tickets (£10 adults and £5 students) are available in advance from Sarah Musgrave (07715 562311) and Cynthia Merriman (01684 566927) and at the door. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served in the interval and proceeds will be donated to Dyson Perrins’ Chaplaincy and Community Youth Worker project.

The Hills Singers are extending a warm invitation to any tenors who might like to join the choir to come and hear our concert. In January we will be without one of our current tenors when he returns to work in New Zealand for six months and another has decided to retire after singing with us for over ten years. We will be pleased to welcome both male and female tenors at the concert and to join us at our regular weekly rehearsal on Thursday, November 12 or November 19 for a trial session – the trial being on both sides!
