HEREFORDSHIRE Wildlife Trust’s WildPlay project will be running a Wild Forest School holiday club day during half term, based at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum on Tuesday, October 27, from 10am to 4pm.

Nestled in the heart of the native woodland, the club will provide a safe environment where children will have the freedom to play, enjoy and explore the woods and partake in a range of activities which will include woodland games and crafts, cauldron cooking, making witches brooms and toffee apples, and blindfold trails and challenges. Suitable for children aged six to 12 years old and is priced at £28 (first child of non HWT members) and £26 per child (siblings and children of HWT members).

Forest school offers hands on learning in a safe and supportive environment where children can discover nature around them and learn new skills. This relaxed approach allows children to gain autonomy, grow in confidence, self-esteem and increase their social skills. So Boredom – what’s that?

Anyone interested in booking their children onto the holiday club should do so in advance via the website http://www.herefordshirewt.org/whats-on

Wild Forest School is available for schools and other interested groups. All our programmes are delivered by Forest School-qualified leaders, all of whom have First Aid Outdoors and DBS certification.
