THE Malvern and District Motorcycle and Light Car Club recently held their annual charity 4 a side skittles competition finals at the club in aid of Worcester Hospitals Rory the Robot Prostate Cancer Appeal.

Spectators watched Cradley freeze out the Icemen in the final to clinch this year’s Charity Shield by 153 pins to 135 pins. In the Semi-Finals the Icemen beat the Sausagemen 136 pins to 131 pins whilst Cradley beat the Likely Lads 145 pins to 137 pins.

Run over ten weeks between June-August the competition has been a tremendous success with 30 teams battling it out on Thursday evenings for the coveted title. The total sum raised was £1221 which included two bucket collections from customers of Matalan on the Malvern Retail Park and donations. The cheque was collected by Craig Burchell, Worcester Acute Hospitals Charity Fundraising.

The champions, Cradley were Roy Jenkins, John Palmer, Cyril Davies, Gerald Williams, Harold Bosley & Ron Monk. Runners-up, Icemen were Andy Ledington, Ron Hadley, Phil Hughes, Colin Pearce, Graham Ellison & Andy Phillips.

Highest scorer of the competition was Nick Rawlings (4+2) with 54 pins.
