MEMBERS of Malvern Floral Art enjoyed a very interesting afternoon at their September meeting.

Chairman Ann Oldfield opened the meeting a few announcement and then she welcomed David Martin, his theme for the floral arrangements Steps along the way.

David was born in Cornwall but had spent time in different parts of the country. He spoke of his travels and associated his arrangements with different parts of the country. David entered his first arrangement in a jam jar when he was ten years old in a children's completion.

First a hand held bouquet with foliage, blue Michaelmas daisy with lemon and pink flowers.

Next arrangement in an antique urn long leaves and foliage, yellow carnations and chrysanthemum with orange gerbers.

Third display he named Essex girl consisted of assorted foliage ferns, pink gladiolus, pink gerbers and roses.

The fourth arrangement reminded him of Ireland. Two small containers all green with bells of Ireland foliage, ferns, green sweet Williams and carnations. Last arrangement small container lots of foliage, white dianthus, blue Michaelmas daisy, white roses and lilies.

Vote of thanks was given by Mary Davies. The cake stall was a success many thanks to Pat and Jean. Also there are lovely greeting cards for sale.

Next meeting October 27 at 2pm at Hanley Swan Village Hall. Andrew Lloyd his theme An Autumn Hue. There will also be a competition entitled An Autumn Hue. All visitors welcome at our meetings.
