MAYOR Julian l'Anson was the special guest at Malvern Libraries annual Summer Reading Challenge medal ceremony.
The ceremony celebrated the achievements of children who had read six books over the summer holidays.
This year's theme was Record Breakers and it was certainly a record breaking year. Over 224 children, an astonishing 64 more than last year, completed the challenge collecting stickers and goodies and participating in three days of events at Croome Court.
Staff and volunteers were instrumental in encouraging and listening as children answered questions about the books they had read and it is hoped next year's challenge will be just as successful.
