ROWING, bowls, badminton, swimming , golf..........these are just some of the sports which residents continue to pursue in the wider community while living here, but we also have many possibilities within the Village itself to keep us fit.
There is an integrated gym, immaculate, fully equipped and constantly manned by qualified instructors who provide individual assessment and support. We pay a minimal fee to join and then it is free for us to use in perpetuity; the gym also provides twice weekly Yoga sessions.
Our Tai Chi tutor has years of experience in this role, and these peaceful, yet intense classes feed our spirits together with our bodies. Armchair Exercises have the bonus of an instructor who would pass as a stand up comic if she did not have to sit down; constant laughter is an added tonic. She also heads up sessions in Pilates and Dance Fitness. The Table Tennis players, like most of these groups, meet in our spacious Village Hall, but the Clarence Park Amblers venture out to walk three or four miles , usually across the countryside. At least one of our residents will be entering the sponsored walk along the Malvern Hills in aid of cancer Research.
The wider community can join in all these activities, quite a number already do so, and it is a pleasure to welcome their participation and to see new faces.
How about coming along to the Disco with Paul Robins at 7pm on Saturday, September 26? Remember we have a bar here, and if stiffness is a result, a massage can be booked any Tuesday, Thursday or Friday at our Hair and Beauty Salon.
