AT the first meeting of the new season the Welland Art and Crafts Group held their own version of This is Your Life.
They looked back forty years to the birth of the Group when seventy one local people showed and demonstrated their crafts at an exhibition in the Parish Hall during Easter weekend and over two thousand people came to view it. Afterwards they wished to continue meeting so the Group was established. The actual doing of crafts has always been the centre of their activities rather than just talking about it and throughout the years there are very few crafts that have not been practised in the heart of the village. We always welcome new members whether they are experienced crafters or learners so why not come and join us?
Our Annual Subscription is £5 and we pay £1 each time we attend our monthly meeting on the second Friday evening of the month in Welland Parish Hall. Sub Groups for Needlecrafts and Papercrafts take place in members homes.
The next meeting of the Group is on Friday, October 9 at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall when Jan Long's subject is The Life of Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
