ELLEN Gwynne welcomed everyone to the meeting on Tuesday, September 1.

It was confirmed that the second visit to Holloways in celebration of the 80th Anniversary had been arranged for Monday, September 14, when members unable to attend in June would have the opportunity to enjoy their afternoon tea experience.

Shelagh Willis confirmed that several members were taking part in various classes at the forthcoming Annual Council competition on October 20. The collection of items donated by members for the Christmas Shoebox Charity was growing and members were reminded that they had another two months to contribute to this very worthwhile children’s charity.

Dates and venues were confirmed for the various extra group activities to be held during the month, with a special mention of the Local History group’s visit to the Master’s House, Ledbury the following day.

Birthday Posies were presented to Marilyn Harding, Angie Pulford, Sue Benjamin, Shelagh Willis and Lyn Saunders.

Ellen Gwynne introduced Samantha Wood who had come along from the Alzheimer’s Society. Following a very informative talk, Carol Gover gave the vote of thanks. Marilyn Harding won the monthly competition, an interesting shell.

October 6 meeting – This will be an open meeting when our speaker for the evening will be Mr Aslam, Orthopaedic Surgeon from Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

November 3 meeting – workshop – Making a table decoration for Christmas

The WI meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at Leigh & Bransford Memorial Hall. Why not come along and see what is on offer.
