MEMBERS met for their July meeting in the garden of The Grange, home of Carol Hutchings.
After the gloriously hot weather of the previous week, the weather had returned to normal and was cooler but still dry. Lesley Anne opened the meeting and thanked Carol who was presented with a pot plant.
After the usual business members enjoyed socialising and a game of Smite whilst enjoying refreshments provided by Penny and Pam. Although there is no August meeting, there is a still lot going on with summer reading and Walking Groups, and celebrations of the centenary of the WI.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday September 10 at 7.30pm in Hanley Swan Village Hall, where the guest speaker will be Rachel Rigby, who is giving a talk about Violette Szabo GC, notable female spy and member of the resistance. The WI has been inspiring women for one hundred years, so come along, bring a friend and see what it's all about!
