THE work of two of Worcestershire’s most popular artists, John Harris and David Birtwhistle, is on display at the Elgar Birthplace Museum at Lower Broadheath.

The artists are no strangers to the Museum. This is the twelfth year that their work has been exhibited at Broadheath, and art lovers from across the midlands gathered at the Museum for the opening night of the exhibition, which included an opportunity to meet the two artists and talk to them about their work.

Museum Supervisor, Chris Bennett said: “This is always one of the highlights of our events programme. Like Elgar himself, David and John are inspired by their surroundings, the beautiful countryside and historic buildings – both grand and humble. Many of the paintings on display are of places that Elgar knew and loved and looking at them, you can almost hear Elgar’s music”

The exhibition at The Elgar Birthplace Museum is open every day until December 23, 11am to 5pm (last admission 4.15pm).

The exhibition runs until August 31.
