So, much to celebrate!

As Civic Week came to a close on Saturday, July 18 we reflected on how many visitors have been through our open doors.

On Wednesday, July 15 150 children spent the whole day working on a production of Noah and His Floating Ark with Piers Maxim and accompanied by Ron Ward. They gave a very polished performance at 3.30pm, after making the set and practicing their singing all day. It was lovely that they could be joined by Canzona Czech choir again, who have been busy singing at venues all week.

The Church was also packed on Friday when Malvern Parish School held their Leaver’s Service, it was good to be able to see the school with us for one of their special services once again.

People have been popping in and out to buy books, cards and gifts chat and have a coffee all week and our Book Fair on Saturday raised £90 which will go to our Roof Appeal.

A very special highlight was the much anticipated concert on Saturday afternoon – The Boehm Clarinet and Piano Duo. Tim Sidford and Louisa Davidson gave a magnificent performance. It was so wonderful to hear our new grand piano played so sensitively and beautifully by Tim. With Louisa’s wonderful playing of the clarinet they complemented each other perfectly. You could hear a pin drop as the audience was lost in the music. In fact it was a perfect way to spend a summer’s afternoon, people were still commenting on it the next day and we hope that we will hear them again soon at Christ Church. The concert raise £250 towards our Roof Fund, we will get there!

Our next events are on Saturday, August 1 when we welcome you to our Book Fair from 10am to noon and then at 7pm the Suzuki School of Music return. They will be celebrating their 25th anniversary at Christ Church . They always give such a happy and joyful performance, don’t miss it. Entry is free but we would love you to give generously to enable our Roof Appeal grow! Refreshments will be served .
