HURRY along tomorrow, Saturday, to Powick Church for the annual fete, being held around the churchyard and in the church, from 2pm.

All the usual stalls plus visits to the tower, with music, teas and ice cream and raffle. All proceeds are for the church heating system and church maintenance. Cars may be parked in the adjacent field, courtesy of Robert Green.

Last Sunday afternoon a Tea Party was held in Powick Parish Hall by the Friends of St Peter’s Church. Over 80 people enjoyed a traditional tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes. Special thanks go to all who helped in the making of the food, and to those who waited at table. The raffle was won by Robert Beard (a begonia plant), Mrs Godsell (wine), Helen Lippitt (wine) and Margaret Trueman (chocs).

Next Friday, July 31, Powick ramblers meet at 10am at The Lion, at Clifton on Teme. The five mile walk will visit Shelsley Beauchamp and Shelsley Walsh with some hill climbs and will be led by Brian (01684 573562).
