Salters hill Benefits from Summer Open Studio Weekend.

Salters Hill Charity , based in Ledbury and providing support and opportunities for Adults with a range of disabilities were delighted to be chosen as the local charity for Bankside Studios latest Open weekend Stuart Houghton and Fleen Doran , 2 of the 7 artists based at Bankside Studios in Ledbury visited the Creative Learning team at Salter’s Hill Charity on Tuesday to present 5% of the takings from their Open Studio weekend on the 11th and 12th July .

The weekend show cased the work from seven local makers, belatrova (who produce distinctive hand made products), Dave Preston ( artist Blacksmith), Wendy Houghton ( distinctive ceramics inspired by nature), Fleen Doran, (individual pieces fired in a wood fired Salt Glaze kiln), Nicky Arscott (local artist who has exhibited widely including the Royal Academy ), Stuart Houghton ( beautiful hand thrown and finished porcelain) and the Japanese Garden ( quality Japanese and Oriental products) Salters hill Charity are delighted to have the support of all the artists at Bankside Studios and even more pleased that Fleen and Stuart (who has a long association with the charity and supported the Creative Learning team to acquire and set up their first kiln ) were able to take time out from their busy schedule to come and have tea and cake with the Creative Learning workshops and present the Cheque .

The money raised will be used to fund materials for the ceramics workshops that run at the charity 3 times a week and provide both skills based training and therapeutic opportunities to work with Clay.
