POWICK Parish Community Choir under their Musical Director, Tom Wells, performed to a full house at Stanbrook Abbey in Callow End on Saturday, July 11.

The choir's wide repertoire ranged from Bach's gentle Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring to Bon Jovi's rousing Livin On a Prayer. Powick Strings accompanied several of the items. There were lively solos from four members of the choir; Sally Kidd, Louisa Sandy, John Hadley and Peter Wilkinson plus amazing singing from young Ben Madden, Head Chorister at Worcester Cathedral.

Stanbrook Abbey has become the choir's regular performance venue. Not only is it a wonderful place in which to sing but it is also in the heart of the choir's home ground situated between Powick and Callow End.

Powick Parish Community Choir was founded by Tom Wells in 2010 and is always looking for new members particularly men. Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons. For further information please contact the Secretary at powickchoir@gmail.com or tel 07702 996203.
