WE were delighted to welcome a large audience to our Midsummer Concert last Sunday.

The music was sublime and enthusiastically appreciated by all present. Thanks must go to members of The Amethyst Ensemble who generously gave their time to prepare and present this wonderful programme. Mendelssohn's Octet was the climax of the evening and did not disappoint the audience, as we listened to this glorious work in the lovely setting of St Gregory's. Thanks also to those who gave donations for refreshments and for the hamper of local produce which was raffled on the night. We all hugely enjoyed the event and look forward with eager anticipation to the promised return visit of The Amethyst Ensemble next year.

Our next concert takes place on Saturday, July 18, when Seraphim, a leading female vocal ensemble from Suffolk, will be joined by Malvern's own Jenny Lind Singers to present a programme of music for upper voices at St Gregory's. This forms part of the programme of events for Malvern's Civic Week and will, of course, include music by Edward Elgar. Admission costs £10 and reservations may be made on 07715 562311 with Sarah Musgrave.

The next CaCoffany session takes place on Saturday, July 4 at 10am in the church, when a programme of uplifting hymns will be presented for all to sing. Coffee and cake will be available after the singing from 10.45am until 11.30am. Talented violinist Alice Howick has kindly offered to play during a short interlude in the programme. There is no admission charged, but a Bring and Buy stall raises funds to support the maintenance of our lovely church. Do come and enjoy a morning of friendship, fun and song!

Our service this Sunday is one of Holy Communion at 9.30am, when The Reverend Chris Moss will be preaching. An inspiring address is promised and selected hymns and set readings will form part of our worship. Visitors are assured of a warm welcome; do join us if you can.
