THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

‘NOW the Green Blade Riseth’ is one of my favourite hymns as the words speak not only celebrating Jesus conquering death by rising from the tomb but also the flourishing of spring.

The Bluebells are now just coming into flower on the hills and the trees are beginning to come into leaf. New life has come again from the seeds sown last year.

Our words can be very much like seeds as what we say can be for good or for ill. Only much later on do we realise that what has been said has grown into a source of either great happiness or despair. In turn our messages are affected by what we hear and so the cycle continues.

Christians believe that by spreading the message of hope in the risen Lord, others may flourish in His unconditional love. We are all called to be His messengers of peace and love.

What seeds will you plant this day?
