MALVERN Community Forest has two woodland working parties to look forward to this month.

The first is on Sunday, April 19 at Prospect Community Woodland, between Prospect View medical centre and Bradfords on Pickersleigh Road. Last month, we took out a few trees, cleared some brambles, removed huge quantities of rubbish - and found an active bumble bee nest. It was a beautiful spring day and we had lots of volunteers on site. Hopefully we'll have equally as good a day this weekend. It's time for us to start serious work on the access path to the car park as well as continuing our fight with those brambles...

On the following Tuesday, April 21, we will be working down at Townsend Way Community Woodland, continuing work on the clearing we started last month. Meet us opposite the pet food shop at the Morrisons end of the woodland.

Both working parties start at 10am and finish at noon. We'll provide safety wear, instruction and tools - please wear stout shoes, weather-proof clothing and hats/sunscreen if the weather requires it. We always have plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits - our working parties are certainly not all work and no play!

I have also attached a couple of pics in case they would be of any use to you. IMPG1945&1954 are tree felling at Townsend Way in March. 1945 has Dave Munday on the left and Craig Hughes on the right. 1954 has Deborah Boardman on the left and Linda Hirschhorn on the right. The other is of Craig Hughes L & his son Owen Hughes R showing off their interesting finds from Prospect Community Woodland. Everyone has agreed to use of their pictures in any publicity, and they were taken by me, so no copyright issues.
