THERE was no speaker booked for the March meeting so it was a very informal evening but there are lots of notices and events taking place in the near future so this took up quite a lot of time.

As the WI is 100 years old this year one person from each WI is invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace in June. Member’s names were put into a draw and Janet Bowen was the lucky person to be selected.

The committee produced cakes to have with tea and coffee and then a game of Beetle was played; although many members had not heard of the game. Pencil, paper and dice at the ready members soon learned the local rules and after a noisy session the winner was Sally.

The new tablecloth was produced on a green background and Ann Crowther has produced a yellow monogram depicting the old Powick Bridge and Power Station and this can now be placed over the cloth and will fit any size of table.

The AGM at The Royal Albert Hall on June 4 will be screened at Malvern Theatre but Jenny will open her house and luckily Stephan has the technology to show it on the TV at home. Members will be able to make it their celebration event with a bring and share lunch.
