A CENTENARY Peal will be rung at St Faith's Church, Berrow on Saturday, February 28, starting at 9.45am.

This will commemorate the dedication of five Gillett & Johnson bells on February 25, 1914. There have only been 11 peals rung at St Faith's.

Elisabeth Rambridge, Chairman of the Faith in the Future Appeal at Berrow, has put together an exhibition about the history of the bells, which will be displayed in the church porch.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded a first-round pass for urgent repairs to the church; and the past months have been spent gathering all the information for the development stage of the project.

Reverend Julie James and Reverend Anthea Elston, with the PCC, are very grateful to Malcolm Taylor, the Tower Captain at Tewkesbury Abbey, who has organised this historic event.

Our Pancake Day last Tuesday proved yet another winner with many visitors consuming a plentiful supply of sizzling pancakes. This made every bit of hard work by our volunteer chefs, our waitresses and the much sought after tea ladies efforts so worthwhile for a very worthy charity, Haven Breast Cancer Hereford.

My special thanks to my friends (volunteers) Ann, Betty, Celia, Sue and Gwyneth for such a determined effort. We really didn't get chance to chat to our visitors such was the demand for our pancakes.

Thanks also to the faithful few who helped us with final clearing up, and for the donations to Haven. A cheque for £180 will be soon heading towards Hereford and hopefully next year when we repeat this event our donations can be even higher as this charity is self-funded.

Once more thank you for your wonderful support.
