BY happy coincidence, the second, hugely successful, Help for Heroes pub quiz at the Bluebell Inn, Guarlford Road, Malvern occurred at the same time as the launch of Marston’s Help for Heroes Blonde Ale, part of the brewery's campaign to support the military charity.
With landlord Lewis Daley hosting and Malvern Help for Heroes coordinator Tim Kidwell asking the questions, the competition attracted 11 teams from across Malvern. Sixty questions on a wide range of topics provided a challenge and a nail-biting tie breaker determined the winner from the top four teams.
Dorothy’s Dead Ringers just pipped The Norfolk and Hope Quarryman’s Association to win a meal for them all courtesy of the Bluebell. Prizes were presented by local Help for Heroes award winner, Helen Kidwell. The quiz closed with a selection of prizes from the raffle.
Mr Kidwell said: "This was an exciting quiz in a tremendous atmosphere and raised an impressive £242.32 for Help for Heroes. Come and join us for the next one on Thursday, March 5 at the Bluebell."
