THE Hanleys Community Cafe and Market, Hanley Swan village hall and Hanleys primary school have come together to organise Hanley Swan's first-ever winter car boot sale, tomorrow (Saturday, February 28) outside the village hall.

Jane Whittaker, who helps run the monthly Cafe and Market is an avid car boot sale fan. “I get withdrawal symptoms in the winter when the car boot season is dormant – and it occurred to me that I would not be alone in this! Realising that we had hard-standing in the village hall car park, a winter car boot sale became a real possibility – it was just a matter of getting all the interested parties together” she said.

The result of her work will be evident tomorrow when car boot sellers will be welcomed from 8.30am onwards. “We are charging £5 per car and have space for some 30 or 40 cars in the village hall car park. Our usual cafe and market will be in the hall itself from 10am onwards and visitors to both events will be able to park their cars in the primary school's car park which has been specially opened for us.” said Jane.

“Our only concern is the weather... but actually we have got that covered as well with a car boot bad weather check on the village web site at www.hanleyswan.net . But we are counting on brilliant warm sunshine!”
