THE last meeting was rather unusual as members normally have an interesting speaker for the evening.

This meeting though was just as interesting in a different way. The room was laid out with tables and tablecloths instead of the usual rows of seats and when members were all seated they were given a quiz to spend their evening trying to fathom. Then they all had the chance to taste some lovely homemade bread and soups all very different made by the members of the committee. Members had several different flavours of both but being on a diet I only chose one, parsnip and coconut, it was one of the nicest soups I have ever had and I certainly will get the recipe. The quiz was not as easy as it took quite a while to work out that it was anagrams of place names but tied up in sentences. Of course everyone enjoyed the laughs it created and it was a lovely evening enjoyed by all.

Members now have more to look forward to in the next few weeks, including, Book Club, Coffee with Books and different clubs where they swap and talk about interesting books they’ve read and chat about anything they find interesting, the Craft Group are making patchwork items and cards for all occasions and the Lunch Club are touring Worcester Guildhall followed by lunch at the Diglis Hotel and lunch at Tewkesbury Garden Centre on another day.

Future events on the calendar are a visit by train to Birmingham to see the Staffordshire Hoard, a visit to Highnam Court followed by lunch, an August visit to see the SS Great Britain in Bristol and a group picnic on the village green to mark the centenary of the founding of the WI in this country.

If you think all this is for you too, why not come along to one of the meetings, members would love to see you and would make you very welcome.
