Faced with the challenge of designing and creating a window display as part of their Roots for Life course students at Hope Unlimited produced results which are easily as good as any professional effort.

The students were working on team building and design in the classroom when Troman’s Family Eyecare in Malvern Link offered them the opportunity to face a real world challenge by producing a window display for the shop.

Roger Britton, Director of Hope Unlimited said, “The students rose to the challenge and understood that second best just couldn’t be good enough in the commercial world. They developed the concept and carried that through to design and the choice of approaches and materials that would really work. The finished product is outstanding and, looking around the town is easily as good as any professional efforts.”

Hope Unlimited is a local charity which offers unemployed young people aged under 25 varied opportunities to gain employment. They can take courses to extend their basic skills and complete work experience. Individual mentoring is also separately available to assist with writing a CV, completing job applications and improving interview techniques. All this helps to give expertise and confidence to Hope students and mentees enabling them to move into the world of work.
