MORE than 60 members and friends of the Group attended their latest meeting at which a presentation by Judy Conway and Pat Strauss of The Friends of the Master's House was given.

The fully illustrated talk covered the Master's House refurbishment to date and included a photographic record of the works progress over the intervening two years since inception. At the talk were samples of stone work and timbers from the original 15th Century building.

Following the talk, Robert Waddington, Chairman of The Friends, was able to answer questions from the floor and a lively discussion followed.

The building is due to be opened in February but of course from an empty shell to full occupancy will take a period of time. The Library will relocate from its present position; Hereford Council will resume its services as before and other user groups will move in. There is also an area for Community use where meetings and gatherings can be held.

At the meeting a DVD was available for purchase concerning the refurbishment works presented by the Architect and the Builder's Site Manager.

The Master's House is a wonderful asset to the Town and residents and visitors will soon be able to witness the endeavours of all those associated with preserving and giving the building a new lease of life.

The Local History Group's next visit in June will be to the Museum of Carpet in Kidderminster.
