ON a crisp sunny morning 20 members of Malvern Hills Footpath Society set off from Kempsey Common car park for a brisk 9.5 miles ramble around Croome Park and the nearby villages.
After crossing Kempsey Common we followed the M5 for a short way before heading to High Green for a mid-morning break.
The route continued on into Croome Park and some fantastic opportunities for scenic photo shoots amongst settings originally planned by Capability Brown, including the one of the group posing with Croome Court and Croome Church in the background.
We followed Rights of Way through the park, past the lake and around the perimeter before leaving National Trust property on our way to Pirton and a lunch stop.
All that remained then was to continue on towards Kempsey Common and a return to the car park to end a glorious day's walk which every member thoroughly enjoyed.
MHDFS walks are advertised every Friday in the Malvern Gazette Whats On section.
Anyone is very welcome to join us on any of our Saturday or mid-week walks. Just turn up at the advertised start and pick up a lift or follow our members to the commencement of the walk and enjoy good company and good exercise.
