OUR first meeting of the year was not well attended due to sickness and unforeseen circumstances but we were able to receive the final figure for the Poppy Appeal from Vicky Whitehouse our PAO who advised us that we had beaten last year’s best ever total by just over £50.

This is a fantastic result at £4,563.02 and to add to that later on in the year we will have the additional gift aided tax relief of around another £140 to add.

The annual General Sir George Weir Poppy Cup competition this year was won for the first time by Madresfield Working Men’s Club with a fantastic total of £573.15 beating by some margin the previous best ever by The Blue Bell in Callow End last year.

Once again the local community have show how much they respect those who have given and are still giving so much for their country and this support is just the kind of encouragement the RBL members need to sustain the work we do in the community and on a national basis.

Thank You Everyone.

We had the County Conference at Droitwich RBL on Saturday, January 17 and the branch was represented and finally and more locally, we will be having our New Year get together meal this year on Thursday, January 22 at the Three Nuns in Colletts Green 7pm for 7.30pm

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 10 at Madresfield Club please attend if you can as we will be thinking of staging a special event in the coming summer and we are going to need plenty of help so all new members will be very welcome.
