THE first Help for Heroes pub quiz at Malvern's Bluebell Inn in Barnard's Green proved a smash hit.
Nine teams entered with Retired Husbands Working Wives coming first, just ahead of Magic Sparkle and Hello Sailors.
Organiser and Bluebell mine host Lewis Daley said: "A great time was had by all and the winners took home a voucher for a free meal each at the Bluebell and the runners up were treated to a round of drinks. The raffle prizes included an Help for Heroes teddy bear, bottles of fizz and a whole host of other goodies. The event raised £250 for our injured service men and women.
"The next Help for Heroes pub quiz will be on Thursday, February 5 starting at 8pm. There'll be more prizes for the quiz and in the raffle and we can promise demanding questions, but a fun event. Why not make up a team and join us - no pressure."
