LAST week pupils in Key Stage 1 at Powick Primary School performed a selection of Christmas songs and told the Story of the Nativity in rhyme.

The songs included Frosty the Snowman, We Three Ships, When Santa got stuck up the chimney and a version of Twelve Days of Christmas with wild animals and birds being used as gifts each day and the show ended with the singing of We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Special thanks go to Peter Wardren, the pianist, in preparing the children.

Today there will be a school disco and next week,on Thursday,Carols and a Christingle Service will be held in Powick Parish Church at 9am.

Powick handbell ringers have been performing at the Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern,the Acorns Hospice and the Bluebell at Callow End and will also perform at the St Peters Church Carol Service.

This Sunday a service for Advent will be at 11am and the traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols will take place on Sunday, December 21 at 6.30pm.

Powick Community Choir perform three concerts for Christmas, one on Sunday and two on Monday evening at Stanbrook Abbey this weekend. As always Tom Wells will be conducting and guest singers and a string orchestra will add to the atmosphere. All tickets have now been sold.

Today, Friday a Christmas coffee morning with crafts, wreaths, homemade cakes and raffle will be held at the Link Nurseries from 10am until noon. Members of the Chase High School band will provide the music for carols.
