THE church was full to capacity last Thursday when Ledbury Community Brass Band and Bredon School Choir entertained us with a wealth of popular seasonal music.

The warm atmosphere and substantial refreshments completed a hugely enjoyable evening which raised £850 for Help for Heroes. Our grateful thanks go to all who helped to make this event such a success.

On Saturday morning, the church was buzzing once again when keen supporters attended the CaCoffany Christmas Special. A varied programme of carols was presented and singers enjoyed combining firm favourites with one or two unfamiliar songs. A poignant moment was shared as we sang Silent Night in memory of the Christmas Truce 100 years ago. This was dedicated to our visitor Pat, who celebrated her 100th birthday the previous week. Afterwards, we enjoyed chatting over coffee and cakes while spending money at the various stalls. Over £350 was raised to support general Church Funds.

This coming Sunday, we gather to give thanks for 50 years of dedicated service from Benefice Organist Edward Lane, who started playing at Longdon Church in November 1964. The celebration at Castlemorton Church is a family service and begins at 11.15am. Everyone across the Benefice and beyond is welcome to join us for this very special event, when refreshments will be provided after the service.
