YOUNG musicians from the Chase School performed a varied programme at last Thursday’s Lunch Box.

During the half-hour lunchtime concert, they delighted the audience with choral and instrumental pieces, which illustrated the high standard of music achieved by these local young people and their teachers.

The choir walked in singing a traditional African song Freedom is Coming. Following taking part in a performance of The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins in the Royal Albert Hall with a massed choir with schools from all over the country, they repeated the Sanctus and Agnus Dei for the Lunch Box audience. The Chase Barber Shop choir sang Come Fly with Me by James Van Heusen and two very talented soloists – Danielle Dean (piano) and Bethany Berry (violin), delighted the audience with Blue Air from Colour Suite by Madeleine Dring and Remembrances from Schlinder’s List by Jolan Williams.

The concert concluded with choir singing Anthem (from Chess) by Andersson/Ulvaeus.

The next Lunch Box event in the Priory will be a talk on the recent developments at Croome Court by Michael Smith, the Property Manager on Thursday, November 20. This is a free event open to all. Bring your lunch to eat at 12.30pm in the Priory, tea and coffee are available. The half-hour illustrated talk will begin at 1pm.
