Visitors are always welcome on the first Monday of the month at Colwall Village Hall WR13 6EQ.

We meet for 7.30pm when there is a talk given by a person well versed in their speciality. Arrive early, meet the members and enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee.

The November meeting opened with our Chairman, Helen Picton, reminding us of the up-coming AGM on December 1. Nominations for the committee should be with the Secretary, Joan Wright.

We, the eighty or so members and guests had the pleasure of the company of Mark Paviour at our November meeting. Mark’s presentation was The year round shrub garden. This well illustrated talk introduced or reminded us of the best shrubs for flower and foliage from spring through to winter.

This was the presentation of a plant enthusiast much of which, sadly, passed over the writer’s head.

Our next meeting commences at 7pm with our AGM, which is followed by a presentation on Japan in the Spring. This will be given by Duncan Coombs, a horticulture lecturer at Pershore College and extensive traveller to Japan and China.

Come early, make/meet friends and discuss your gardening interests (and challenges). There are many experienced and knowledgeable gardeners who are happy to answer questions. Subscriptions, payable in January, are £12; visitors are charged £4.
