OUR Remembrance Service this year was all the more special because it is 100 years since the First World War and also because we were delighted to be joined by the girls of Malvern St James School.

It seemed very apt that this generation were there to remember a past generation that they only know from the history books. Our War Memorial altar displays an original copy of the actual service sheet that commemorated the end of that war that began a hundred years ago. We give thanks for all the lives of all the service men in that war and the next who selflessly gave their all to protect us. It is very appropriate that at our service the choir form Malvern St James School represented this generation and sang , so beautifully, the anthem For the Fallen. We enjoyed it, but, more than that, we were humbled by it.

It was wonderful to see the Church full of several generations and, as the names were read we were all reflected on those sacrifices. The sound of the Last Post echoing , beautiful and yet tinged with sadness. Our grateful thanks to Cheri Lee , from Malvern St James School , for playing it for us. Our thanks to Mrs Woodhouse , Mrs Lindner and the choir and all the girls, for joining us and sharing our service, it made it very special.

Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his brother
