WELL, Christ Church was all about children this week.

It was full of children on Thursday, October 23 when we were delighted to see the Malvern Parish School at Christ Church for their Harvest Service and they said prayers for children around the world. Following the service they held an auction to raise money for children , this time the NSPCC.

On Saturday , November 1 children are once again the focus, this time needy international children, when we hold our

Boxes and Books which incorporates our Shoe Box work shop. Please join us from 10am to noon We had a super time last year when we all filled shoe boxes together for children in other countries who receive these boxes through Operation Christmas Child. Bring boxes and contents if you have them, we have spares and extras and will help wrap your boxes too! We have our resident wrapper! Come on your own, with friends or make it a family affair and spread some joy before Christmas. Let us show these children we are all God’s children and send them something positive, probably the only gifts they will receive. We will also have our Book Fair , with our huge selection of books and coffee and home made cakes to enjoy, a good Saturday morning out . Don’t forget you can drop your finished boxes off every Friday between 10am and noon

You may have read Last week about Christ Church being on the English Heritage At Risk Register. This came as no surprise to us and is why we have been working on the project for the restoration of our roof for the last year. Canon Goddard and myself, along with Reverend Andrew Mottram, Heritage Buildings & Community Development Officer for the Diocese of Worcester, were interviewed by Radio Hereford and Worcester for their Sunday morning programme this week to explain further. Andrew explained how Christ Church was well on the way to having the project complete with the help of all the congregation and the fund raising and the generosity of the people of the Parish and further afield. Harold and myself explained that we were in the process of completing our second round application for our second round grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and this should be done by the end of the year. We then need to await the decision. Meanwhile we still have fund raising to do for the shortfall, in the region of £20,000 and appeal to anyone who can help in any way by organising an event for us or donations. Please do contact me on 07756 722 426 if you think you can help.

On Sunday, November 2 at 4pm join us for our candlelit All Soul's Service to remember our loved ones and light a candle in memory of them and you are warmly invited to stay for coffee and home made cakes after the service.
