ST Gregory's Church echoed with a wonderful selection of extremely varied music on Saturday, October 18 when The Hills Singers performed in concert.

Highlights included Locus Iste by Bruckner, The Shower by Elgar and Over the Rainbow arranged by Guy Turner. Talented flautist Grace Higgins joined the Singers and gave a moving performance of Nocturne et Allegro by Gaubert and Sonata Movement ' by Devienne, where she was accompanied proficiently by Tim Sidford. During the interval, the audience enjoyed substantial refreshments provided by parishioners, and the evening ended with Gaelic Blessing by Rutter. This event was supported by an appreciative audience and raised over £400 towards St Gregory's Development Fund.

This weekend sees the return of CaCoffany! - a popular social event where parishioners and visitors gather to sing an uplifting programme of hymns, followed by cake and coffee. The venue is St Gregory's Church, Castlemorton on the first Saturday of each month. Next CaCoffany is this Saturday, November 1 10am-11.30. Do come and join us to sing your favourite hymns! Looking ahead, make a note of the date of our CaCoffany Christmas Special on December 6 when we shall hold a mini Christmas Fayre after singing a wonderful collection of favourite carols.

Looking ahead, we have our First World War Evening of Commemoration on Friday, November 7 at 7.30pm in St Gregory's Church. This will include biographies of local soldiers who fought during the war, interwoven with poignant readings, poems and music. Refreshments reminiscent of the period will be provided. There is no admission charge but a retiring collection will be held in aid of the Poppy Appeal. This promises to be a memorable and moving experience.
