AS the autumn colours make their appearance so the Harvest Festivals are celebrated throughout the county.

There was a good turn out at the village church this past Sunday and villagers enjoyed the Harvest Lunch afterwards. Thank you to all who brought items for the Food Bank.

The Common is scheduled to be closed on Monday and Tuesday for resurfacing. This means that the bus will not be able to traverse down to the pub on its usual route at approximately 10.30am and again at 1.15pm. Please make alternate transport arrangements. It is hoped that Floyds Lane will be reopened very shortly.

This Tuesday, 10.15am, is the start of a new study: Personality Types – from a Biblical Perspective. Four Bible characters will be looked at and their strengths and weaknesses examined. What personality type are you? Please phone Howard Mayell for more details if you would like to attend (07906 841893).

Friday, October 31 is Halloween Night at the Memorial Hall. There will be children’s games from 7pm -8pm, hotdogs at 8pm, and music and fun for the rest of the evening. Entertainment includes a fancy-dress competition (1-11 years, 11-16, and adult); a pumpkin-carving competition; and a best-decorated Halloween cake competition. To book your place, please phone Natalie (01531 632431) or Karen (01531 637316).

It is Morning Worship this Sunday at Christ Church, 9.30am and Wednesday prayers continue at the same time.

And finally, don’t forget to book a date to come and watch the village pantomime on Thursday, October 27, Friday, October 28 or Saturday, October 29 at 7.30pm. Rehearsals are well under way!

Have a wonderful week!
