This Sunday is the Harvest Service at Christ Church and please note that the starting time is 11am (not 9.30am as usual). The church will be beautifully decorated in the harvest theme, and Reverend Howard Mayell will conduct the service. A bring-and- share lunch is scheduled to follow in the Memorial Hall. All those with a grateful heart are welcome to come along and give thanks for the excellent harvest and the many blessings that have been ours to enjoy. This is an opportunity to donate food and sundry items for the Food Bank. “All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above; so thank the Lord, O thank the Lord for all His love.”

At the recent MacMillan coffee and cake afternoon, an amount of £355 was raised. "A big thank-you to everyone who joined us at the Memorial Hall! Thank you to everyone who came, sent donations and baked. Special thanks too to Christine, Marion and Pat in the kitchen and all the shops in Ledbury who donated items to our raffle. I am sure you will agree it is a great total to send to the Charity. From Katherine, Ellla, Lexi, Emily and Rosie and Annabel.”

David Fletcher will once more be intriguing the crowds with his talk on The North East Passage Across the Top of Russia, on Wednesday evening, October 15, 8pm, at the Memorial Hall. Entry is £4 and children are free. David has had 40 years of experience in Arctic and Antarctic exploration and scientific research. Refreshments will be searched in the intermission.

The Common (the road down to Pool Piece and the pub from the Ledbury Road) will be closed on Monday 21 and Tuesday October 22 for resurfacing. This will be between 8am – 5pm.
