REVEREND Julie James and parishioners from St Faith's Church, Berrow, warmly welcomed The Friends of St Faith's, Overbury.
The dedication to St Faith is unusual, with fewer than 40 churches in England named after her; and it's likely that St Faith's Overbury was the mother church of St Faith's Berrow in the Middle Ages.
Elisabeth Rambridge, Chairman of the Faith in the Future Appeal at Berrow, spoke about the history of the church and the restoration project, and how delighted they are to have gained a first-round pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Both groups agreed that the beautiful settings of their churches are a very precious heritage to safeguard.
